President Babjak rang the bell, Howard Jaffe gave the Pledge, and Greeter Doug Fendon led us in prayer. There was no song. Boo Hoo!

 

-Doug Fendon’s wife Nancy’s mother turned 97 recently. Doug said she is as nice as his mom.

-Bill Rickert bragged that Green Bay has a new quarterback but the same result. A Bear’s loss!

 

-Board meetings are the second Tuesday of the month. All are invited to attend.

-Elliot Pinsel was presented with his President’s pin.

-September birthdays: Larry Neal – 9/17, Ron Lapins – 9/19.

-Saturday’s demo project was a success and included our District Governor.

-Kim Smith announced a volleyball tournament on Saturday 9/23 at Crossroads to benefit the American Heart Association. See Kim if you are interested.

-Howard Jaffe is looking for volunteers to man the USO beer tent from 8 to 10 on 9/21.

-Polly Grover said that her bank is giving away office furniture. Talk to Polly.

-We need help with the upcoming fundraiser. Silent auction, social media platforms, sponsors, and brochures.

-We have received many thank you notes for our charitable contributions.

We will have meetings on 11/22 and 11/29. 12/6 will be our holiday party in the evening. Details to follow.

-We think there will be Pumpkinfest this year. Volunteers needed to unload the pumpkins. Details to follow.

Doug Fendon, filling in for Seb, gave us a quiz.

 

Today’s program was District Governor Mary Bak. She told us about her goals that include encouraging clubs to collaborate on service projects. She wants to improve communication between Clubs and Rotarians and the District. She is also in need of people to fill openings as: Grant Chair, help in the District Grant area, and an Interact Chair. She is looking for people of action who can take on service projects. Service is important. We need responders to need. There will be District training on 10/14 and the District Conference will be 4/19 and 4/20 in conjunction with District 6450.

 

Her dearest wish was to be District Governor. She hopes this year to expand our reach and increase adaptability. She wants to improve service and education. The District will be looking to improve DEI. There is a relationship between you, the Club and the community. The Club Greeter is important by making the club accessible and welcoming. She hopes to increase giving this year. She encourages clubs to collaborate and reach out on issues. “To have hope there must be peace”. She hopes to focus on women and children on the issues of mental health and human trafficking.

 

She has a new District Administrative Assistant. She is Jillian Bernoff. She hopes to have continuity and a path forward. “The difference between dreams and reality is action”.
