Newly installed President Jon Robb opened the meeting, Bil Rickert gave the Pledge and yours truly led us in prayer. Song meister Dennis Kratohwil added a new wrinkle by using kazoos to do Hail to the Chief. 

 

-Elliott Pinsel just returned from a trip to Switzerland, France, Italy, and Iceland.

-Jon Robb bragged about Tom Zengler hosting the Installation Dinner for another year. Thanks Tom!

 

-Tom Zengler’s birthday is July 26.

-Anniversaries: Brad Kunzler – 5 yrs., Rich Bablak – 28 yrs., Steve Risley – 28 yrs., Tucker Olson – 29 yrs., Tom Miller – 34 yrs.  

-Jon Robb presented several perfect attendance pins.

 

-Our next service project will be with Habitat for Humanity on July 31^st. Ther will be no morning meeting. There will be a picnic afterwards at Adler Park. More volunteers are needed. See Patricia Bleck for details.

 

Michael Schachner conducted a putting contest.

 

Today’s program was a presentation of checks to some of the charities we are supporting.

-Amy Williams representing the Adler Arts Center said they will offer music scholarships with our contribution.

-Diana Snell, from Equestrian Connection, said they are in their 23^rd year. They will use the dollars for infrastructure improvements and scholarships.

-GiveNKind was represented by Emily Petway who told us they serve nonprofits by assembling overstock goods from 160 donor companies. The goods include food and clothing.

-Beth De Rosier from Great Lakes Adaptive sports Association said they help visually and physically impaired athletes with a day camp, scholarships and provide access to paralympic trials.

-Doug Meffley from Honor Flight Chicago provides flights to Washington DC for WW II, Korean War and Vietnam veterans. They have flown over 800 veterans to DC.

-Libertyville Food Pantry was represented by Kathleen O’Connor. They provide food to 105 homes every week.

-Rich Babjak accepted a check for Misericordia. They house over 600 disabled children and adults. 

-Eric Foote and Nestor Saquan represented PADS of Lake County. There has been a spike in homelessness in Lake County. They provide short term housing, 90 to 100 days, in a hotel they own. They are buying 2 more hotels.

-The Senior Counsel of Libertyville was represented by Jim Patula. They are in their 27^th year providing events for seniors.

-Melissa VanPelt from Youth and Family Counseling has been providing counseling for 62 years in Libertyville and Gurnee. They charge a sliding scale based on financial need.

The next 2 meetings will be devoted to honoring the remaining Charities we support this year.

 

-The Daily was won by Jon Robb.
