PROGRAM:
Today’s program was Brandon Fuchs, a flight attendant with Spirit Airlines.  Brandon shared with us the evolution of the position of stewardesses and stewards to flight attendants.  He shared that an attendant’s job is so much more than serving food and drinks.  Today attendant’s primary function is safety, and if an applicant is not capable of passing the safety components of their training, they never get their “wings”.  An attendant’s duration of training depends on the number of planes they are likely to work in.  Each plane has different aisle, door, and safety features and an attendant much be proficient in each.  The more types of plane, the more training.
Brandon shared some of his experiences over his years as an attendant and answered questions from club members.  He did share his disappointment at the lack of attention paid at the safety instructions at the beginning of each flight……..So “buckle-up” fellow Rotarians, and pay attention!
