President Pinsel opened the meeting, Tom Miller gave the pledge and Jon Robb led us in prayer.

 

-Steve Risley bragged that the auction is over!

 

-Tom Zengler collected between 6 and 7 thousand prom dresses with his event with Mother’s Trust and The Glass Slipper Project in Chicago. Keep the dresses coming!

 

-Elliott Pinsel keeps a journal and Saturday’s entry was a fundraiser recap: “One night brought the community together.”

 

John McDonald was wheeled for a phone call from Bill Rickert about his Zoom connection. Seems like Bill should pay John’s fine!

 

-2 scholarships were approved for LHS students of $1,500 each at the Board meeting. The students will compete for District scholarships also.

 

-Rich Babjak has agreed to be President Elect and Jon Robb will be on deck.

 

-The April 1 dues will be increased $1 per quarter and meals will increase by $1 each. Total yearly increase is about $55.

 

-Scott Hezner is looking for help with the Vocational Avenue of Service.

 

-The March 29^th meeting is the 5^th meeting of the month. There will be no morning meeting and we will have a fellowship gathering at White Deer Run at 6 pm.

 

Rich Schoeneman entertained us with a Jeopardy quiz.

PROGRAM:

Today’s program was a fundraiser recap by Howard Jaffe. We sold 657 tickets to the event and several walk ins were turned away the night of the event. We raised in excess of $100,000. LHS was very cooperative, and Second City gave us a good rate. The show was great, and the entertainment is critical for future success. Revenues were increased by unburdening the meal plus we received silent auction items from the featured restaurants. We increased attendance from people with no prior connection to the Club.

 

We had over 150 auction items including some consignment pieces. There was no advertising budget. We did Meta ads at no cost. Our data base is now much bigger. Sponsor dollars more than doubled but the increase took more time. Everybody’s help was critical. We will have exact results next week.

-Progressive: $152 (49 cards). Jon Robb drew the 8 of hearts.
