FUN & FROLICS:
Dave Ritland entertained us with a game that required transferring milk balls from one bowl to another using only a straw.

PROGRAM:
Today’s program was author Mike Lauesen who wrote a book entitled “Getting off the Treadmill”. What is your treadmill? Pay attention. Do daily reflection and set goals. Are you tired at night? Is it a good tired or a bad tired? If you lived your life each day for you, that is good tired.

Mike learned from his parents. His dad Howard was a  lather. He took pride in his work. He did it with an artistry. He often fell asleep in his chair. That was good tired. Give back all you receive. Make a positive difference. His mom Blanch was a stay at home mom.  She read a great deal. She would put her book down to pay attention to her kids. Listen more. You should have a tool kit for life. Try meditation. Set a goal of 20 minutes a day after 6 weeks.

Pay attention to moments when there is a thin veil between heaven and earth. Olympian Bob Richards talks about goals: 1. Write your goals down, 2. Pay the price. It takes many hours of training to win medals, 3. Keep an attitude of gratitude, 4. Goal is not as important as getting there. Don’t forget to “Get off the Treadmill”.
