BULLETIN – April 12, 2023

President Pinsel opened the meeting, Doug Fendon gave the Pledge and Dave Potts led us in prayer.

There was no song. The prayer worked!

 

BRAGS:
-John McDonald was involved in a water project in Guatemala. They replaced a diesel pump with an electric one and the village now has running water.

-Scott Hezner told us that our 2 vocational scholarship recipients will also receive District scholarships making each total award $3000.

 

-Robin O’Connor participated in the scholarship interview process.

 

-Doug Fendon is back after 3 months in Arizona. His daughter had his second grandson. Where are the cigars?

 

-John Blair’s newborn grandson is doing better and will be baptized soon.

 

-Elliott bragged about his recent trip to Ireland and told us that Howard Jaffe was elected to the Libertyville Hall of Fame but will need to wait until next year to be inducted because he couldn’t attend this year’s ceremony!

 

ANNIVERSARIES:
-Founding members Larry Neal, Tom Zengler and Bill Rickert have Rotary anniversaries on April 14.

-Scott Adams celebrates 5 years of being a Rotarian on April 18.

 

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
-Joe Connelly of the Barrington Breakfast Club informed us of their upcoming 50/50 raffle. Tickets are $100 and only 400 will be sold. There will be an interim drawing of $500. The final drawing is 6/2. Their club will be merging with the Barrington Noon Club.

 

-Steve Risley still has unclaimed auction items. See Steve please!

 

-We will be hosting the fund raiser sponsors on April 26. We raised over

$100k.

 

-The next highway cleanup is 4/29 at 7am at Sunset Foods. See Pat Hart to sign up.

 

-We will have a blood drive after breakfast on June 7. “Feed and Bleed”.

 

-Robin O’Connor asked if we participate in the Libertyville Parade. We could get new members. Discussion to follow.

 

-The Board approved a slate of officers and directors for next year. The slate was approved by the membership.

 

FUN & FROLICS:
Bob Zamor entertained us with a celebrity/child name matching quiz.

 

PROGRAM:
There was no program today.
