-Elliott Pinsel bragged that he had gifts for 480 needy people. This is back to pre-covid levels.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
-Jon Robb’s birthday is 12/3 and he has been a Rotarian for 12 years. Greg Hill’s birthday is 12/8, Rich Babjak has been a Rotarian for 22 years, and Rob Likus’s birthday is 12/11.
-Howard Jaffe reminded us that now is the time to renew your Polio Plus gift. It can be done online. The Rotary Foundation contributions can also be done online. Please let Howard know if you contribute. The Club will match gifts to Paul Harris.
-The spring fundraiser is on 3/11. We will have the ticket system in 2 to 3 weeks. Tickets will be available in 4 price levels. $65 to $125. They would make great holiday gifts! More things are coming.

-There is no meeting next week. The Holiday Party is at Nirvana at 6pm on 12/7.

Sheb Karasu entertained us with a belly dancing moves contest.
PROGRAM:
Today’s program was Katie Eastman and Mathew Karner from Cancer Treatment Centers of America.
Their main campus is in Zion with outpatient sites in Gurnee and Chicago. They offer full cancer care including imaging, diagnosis and chemo all in one place. They maintain a kind atmosphere and serve the whole person. “Everyone should have the same level of care”. 1 in 4 will get cancer. Their aim is to
diagnose the disease earlier. They have a free risk management tool on their website for early detection.
The tool can detect undiagnosed pathways.
They have 25,000 patients and care givers. Screenings are key. They have a community outreach program to make people aware of their services. They offer patient advocates to arrange the best possible results. They are becoming a nonprofit organization as part of City of Hope. They have free drug programs and serve Medicare and Medicaid patients. They offer guest quarters. They have 825 drug trials available for patients and can offer a second opinion.
