President Schoeneman opened the meeting and Doug Fendon gave the pledge. Tom Miller led us in prayer and Dennis Kratohwil brought us back with “Family Affair” by Sly and the Family Stone.

-Dennis Kratohwil bragged that his wife won her women’s league tournament with the low net score.
-Scott Hezner’s son Mason got married.

FOUNDATION MINUTE:
-Be a Rotary Benefactor for $1000.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
-The Feed my Starving Children packing event was a big success. The club presented FMSC with a check for $1500. 48 packers attended and packed 91 cases containing 1956 meals that will feed 54 children for a year! A social gathering followed at Post time. Bob Zamor was the successful bidder for a FMSC tee shirt.
-We passed the hat for the Libertyville Food Pantry. $339 collected.
-We had 51 at last week’s Wine Tasting and 52 signed up for Saturday. If you can’t make it you can buy wine on the website. The raffle is over $5k.
-Our next Board meeting is Tuesday October 12th at 5pm on Zoom. All are welcome to attend.
-Tom Zengler’s Veterans Coat drive is this month. He will collect coats next Wednesday at our morning meeting.
-Highway Cleanup is Saturday 10/16 at Sunset Foods at 7 am. Sign up.
-Pumpkinfest will follow Highway Cleanup at Cook Park. Slots are still available! Pumpkins will be unloaded starting at 8 am. A huge opportunity for a double make up!
-Wine packing will take place on 10/24 at Main Street Social at 9 am. Volunteers needed.
-10/24 is World Polio Day.
FUN & FROLICS:
-Scott Adams entertained us with an Autumn quiz.
PROGRAM:
Today’s program was Marlee Subletto from Mother’s Trust. Marlee started with Mother’s Trust 5 years ago as a volunteer and is now Office Manager.
Mother’s Trust was started in 1998 and assists children with essentials such as clothing, uniforms and fees. They have served over 41,000 children. Referrals come from social service agencies and schools. They work closely with other community organizations such as Pads and Nicasa. Their staff is primarily volunteers.
Mother’s Trust has an upcoming Coat Drive in conjunction with Zengeler Cleaners. They give out clothing from “pop up shops” held throughout Lake County. Last year’s event served 1500 students with prom dresses. They also have an education component that helps kids going to college. Their meetings are every Wednesday at 9:30 am. All are welcome.
RAFFLE:
-Daily: $31 won by Tom Miller who donated his winnings to the Food Pantry.
-Progressive: $1,053 with 18 cards remaining. Dennis Kratohwil drew the Ace of Hearts. So close! Rollover!
