BULLETIN – April 17, 2024

President Babjak opened the meeting Jon Robb gave the pledge and Tim Klein led us in prayer.

 

-Ron Lapins just returned from 3 weeks overseas and reminded us that the Fore Way Testers golf league will begin on April 29^th.

-Tom Zengler collected 5350 prom dresses during this year’s drive. He partnered with Mother’s Trust and CLC.

-Robin O’Connor worked on a dress pop up location and said the confidence the girls had after receiving their dress was remarkable. 

 

-Scott Adams is celebrating 6 years as a Rotarian.

-Next week’s meeting will be at 6 pm at Mickey Finn’s.

 

Tom Gore entertained us with a matching quiz about Major League ball parks and their names.

 

Today’s program was a recognition of sponsors from our fundraiser. Event chairman, Howard Jaffe, reported that we made $153,550 on the fundraiser. This was up about 30% from last year and the highest total since the club’s founding in 1987. We have raised $2.6 mil and supported 250 high school students. We have supported 56 local charities and done 15,000 hours of community service. We have also contributed to international projects in the areas of education, clean water and peace. 

Sponsor attendees included: City of Hope, Austin’s, District 128 and LHS, Advocate Condell Medical Center, K & G Specialty Sales, Midway Wealth Partners, Pet Factory, Edward Jones, Daniels, Long & Pinsel, Farmers Insurance, Professional Wealth Advisors, Rust-Oleum, and Zengler Cleaners.

Those who could not attend Included: Aldridge Family Charitable Fund, Aldridge Group, AutoNation Toyota, Libertyville Bank, Northwestern Mutual, Burkett & Beattie, and McGrath Acura.
