Health Care Challenges in Review

The featured speaker at the Sept 16th meeting of the Grayslake Rotary Club was our own club member, Dr. Ben Hasan.  Ben discussed his family and sports medicine practice, his approach to meeting the challenges he faces in managing a successful practice in Grayslake, and the impact of current health industry practices on both health care providers and recipients.

He also discussed the effect that the Affordable Health Care Act (Obamacare) will have on the health care industry.  Of particular note were his comments regarding the different nature of health care in different regions of the United States; he contrasted a more socialized approach in California to the more free market approach here in Illinois; from his comments, it seems certain that the effect of the new laws will vary to some extent based on the environment currently in place.
