Heather Barcal, Program Director for the Lake County Center for Independent Living (LCCIL), spoke at the Sept 14 meeting of the Grayslake Rotary Club.  Founded in 1990, the Center is a not-for-profit grassroots advocacy, service, and resource organization for people with disabilities.  Guided by the philosophy that people with disabilities have both the right and the responsibility to direct their own lives and pursue their own personal goals, the LCCIL offers disabled people services in independent living skills, advocacy, peer mentoring, and information and referral.  More information is available at their website at www.lccil.org.
