Rotary Club meeting January 30th
Inspiration:
Dave Stumpf provided a very nice overview and inspiration around our club's focus on building Food Security
Visiting Rotarians
- Rotary International Board of Directors and their partners, including RI President Mark Maloney and his partner Gay Maloney, and RI President-Elect Holger Knaack and his partner Susanne
- Rotarians visiting RI for meetings
- AG: Don Gwinn
- Monica Fox, recently relocated to Evanston from Berkeley, CA
During our regular club meeting on January 30th, over 30 RI Board members and partners attended our club meeting and generously donated over $1,000 to support this service project and future meal packing projects. Our members also generously donated a wide assortment of fruits, peanut butter & jelly, cookies, and chips! We started with a group lunch, and after lunch, over the course an hour, we created:
100 hygiene kits to Interfaith Action
200 meal kits to Interfaith Action
50 birthday kits to Hillside Pantry
The bags were decorated and thoughtful handwritten notes were included with the birthday kits and meals! The pictures tell the story!
A special thanks to Gay Maloney and Susanne Knaack for their support in hosting this service project, and to RI President Mark Maloney, and President-elect Holger Knaack for joining us for this service project! This was an enjoyable and memorable experience for our club and all of our visitors, thank you!
And also, great news, President-elect Holger Knaack and Susanne have confirmed that they will participate in the 2020 Evanston 4th of July parade!
