As a part of the club's new Food Insecurity project, Matt Ryan of the Talking Farm visited on Jan. 23 to provide perspectives on the farm's work in promoting urban agriculture. Matt has been involved in urban agriculture and community gardening for over seven years and serves as the Talking Farm’s Farm Operations Manager.

The Talking Farm is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation that provides education, example, and hands-on experience to members of the community to expand the awareness, importance, and availability of food grown sustainably. It operates at Howard Street Farm, its 2.5-acre full-production urban farm on Howard Street, as well as several off-farm educational programs and urban gardens throughout the local community.  During the meeting we discussed with Matt ways our club can assist the Talking Farm as a part of our efforts to reduce food insecurity.
