As Rotarians, we know this: Neighbors coming together to discuss the issues that matter most to them has always been important, maybe even more so these days given the breakdown of civility in our society, globally and locally.

Conversation is what bridges the gap between people of different backgrounds.

Neighbors talking, listening and broadening their perspective is how peaceable communities fortify themselves.

The On The Table Evanston conversation starts NOW!

The On The Table Evanston project — a question and a dinner — is an initiative instigated by our club and the Moran Center for Youth Advocacy to get neighbors sharing what's on their minds.  Anyone and everyone calling themselves Evanstonians are invited to the conversation.

The question: What conversation topics would you be most interested in exploring with community members? Tell us here

We’ll dine together in May. Exact date and location to be determined. Evanstonians responses to the question about topics will help us organize the dinner. The questionnaire also includes a place for your email address so you can get an invitation in your inbox.

So, tell us: What is on your mind?

To encourage your neighbors to get in on this conversation, you can share this piece with them. You can also invite them via Facebook.
