Rotary Club of Evanston Vice President Shawn Iles (at center in photo) was one of the many Evanstonians who turned out on February 15 to participate in "What Would Make Evanston and Extraordinary Place for All Kids to Grow Up In?" -- a community forum organized by the Rotary Club of Evanston and Rotary Club of Evanston Lighthouse.

Participants spent several hours brainstorming ideas during the forum, held over several hours in the afternoon at Evanston Township High School. Chiming in were Rotarians from both Rotary clubs, parents, community members, non-profit staffers and local kids. Club member Karen Kring helped organize the event and club member Kelly Fidei served as the discussion facilitator.

Participating partners include Evanston Cradle to Career, Evanston Public Library, Evanston Township High School, Family Focus, The Harbour, James B. Moran Center for Youth Advocacy, OPAL/Organization for Positive Action and Leadership, Youth Job Center and YWCA Evanston/North Shore.
