Today's Guests
She's no longer a guest.  The membership was delighted to welcome back former member, Sandi Waryck from SW Travel, back to the club as an "Active" member.  So good to have you back, Sandi!
Today's Winner
Today's winner was Joe Trexler who also managed to draw the black tee.  Thank you, Joe,  for donating your side-bet winnings to the Paul Harris Foundation Annual Fund.
Home of the Sparrow - Helpers Needed
I'm passing on an email from Home of the Sparrow looking of volunteers for this Saturday morning. If you're a gardener or just someone interested in earning a "makeup", consider volunteering for this opportunity:
Home of the Sparrow is looking for volunteers to help with a gardening project at our Shelter this Saturday morning, June 9th from 9:00 am - 12:00 noon.  The project involves digging up 18 hosta plants from the front and side of our shelter, and transplanting them to the backyard, in preparation for a project that Habitat for Humanity is helping us with.

If you are interested in helping with this gardening project, please click on this link to sign up:

Joke of the Week
A redhead, a blonde, and a brunette escape from jail and hide in a barn. The police close in, so the three women each hide in a sack. The police search the barn and, to check each sack, a police officer kicks them as he walks past. The officer kicks the redhead's sack, and the redhead says, "Meow!" The officer kicks the brunette's sack, and the brunette says, "Woof, woof." The officer kicks the blonde's sack, and the blonde shouts, "Potatoes!"
Rotary International - Live Streaming from Toronto

New this year: Livestream Rotary Convention breakout sessions

The Rotary International Convention is a great way to learn how to strengthen your club from people who know — fellow Rotarians. Here are just some of the membership breakout sessions that will be offered at the Toronto convention:

•    Engaging Young Professionals
•    Membership Models for the Future of Rotary
•    Rotaract: Rotary’s Bridge to Millennials
•    Communicating the Value of Our Club Experience
•    Making the Most from the Changes in Rotary
•    Changing Trends in Volunteering
•    Simply Irresistible: A Contemporary Approach to Membership

If you can’t attend a breakout session in person, you can still participate. For the first time, Rotary will livestream inspiring general sessions and key breakout sessions from the 2018 convention. See the full list of sessions and register for the livestream today!

Download the Rotary Events app to your mobile device for information, including downloadable resources, about our more than 90 breakout sessions. You’ll be able to find slides after each breakout session on SlideShare.

President Installation
This year's Installation Dinner is scheduled for Tuesday, July 10th beginning at 6:00PM. As in the past, we will be meeting at Lake Julian Trout Farm, 65 Northwest Highway, Cary, IL. The event will be catered by Bret Coleman, owner of Coleman's in the Park. Please RSVP to Dave Miller if you will be in attendance along with any family members or guests you may be bringing. You can also register yourself & your guests by simply clicking on the event in clubrunner or on our website.
Cubs vs Brewers
The Rotary Club of North Chicago will again be hosting the Tailgate Party and seating for the Cubs vs Brewers at Miller Park on Monday, September 3, 2018 (Labor Day).  Cost of tickets is currently $75 per person.  More information will follow.  For now, save the date and let Pat Finlon know if you are interested in attending.
Tiffany Au's Website
As mentioned at today's meeting by Sue, Tiffany Au has developed a website "The Greatest Wedding Ever Donated". Tiffany is a graduate of Cary-Grove High School and is a past recipient of the Decker Scholarship awarded by the Rotary Club of Cary-Grove. Her website highlights her upcoming wedding to Caleb Remington and talks about the work they are doing together to raise funds and awareness for the fight against Cystic Fibrosis. Visit her site http://www.thegwed.com to learn more about their efforts and to learn how you can contribute toward this wonderful cause.

On-Line Makeups!
Need a makeup but find it difficult to get to another club? If so, consider using Rotary's Web-based Rotary eClub One. Click on the link and go to the "Makeups" tab to get started. Doing makeups could be easier. Let us know how you like it.

Rotary Action & Fellowship Groups
Rotarian Action Groups are autonomous groups of Rotarians, family members, program participants and alumni who are experts in a particular field, such as micro-credit or water and sanitation. More information about these groups and their purpose can be found on RI's website.

Rotary Fellowships are independent groups of Rotarians, family members, program participants and alumni who share a common passion. Being part of a fellowship is a fun way to make friends from around the world.  Again, more detailed information is available at this link to RI's website.

If you haven't all ready done so, take the time to click on the two links above and see if there may be a group that fits with your interests.  It's a great way to make new friends and to share common interests with Rotarians from around the world.
