This year's Rotary District Conference will be held on Apr 11, 2014 – Apr 13, 2014. The event wil be hosted at the Oak Brook Hills Resort, located at 3500 Midwest Road

You can register on-line for this fun filled weekend by visiting the district's website. There is also an agenda for the weekend posted at that site. Member that are planning on staying at the resort through the weekend can do so for a reduced rate of $99 per night, but that rate is only available until Monday, March 24.
As Rotarians, we end each of our weekly meetings by reciting The Four-Way Test. Building on the principles outlined in that document, we should also pay attention to the phrases outlined in the Rotary Code of Conduct:

At today’s meeting of the Rotary Club of Cary-Grove, club members voted in favor of contributing $10,000 toward the restoration of the Fine Arts Facility located at Cary-Grove High School. The decision was made following a presentation made to the membership in January by John Jordan of The Cary-Grove Fine Arts Foundation.
The Cary-Grove Fine Arts Foundation is a not-for-profit organization with a mission "to improve the overall fine arts facility at Cary-Grove High School for all students, families, community members and businesses". By initiating a capital improvement project, in partnership with School District 155, it hopes to raise the necessary funds to support the Fine Arts tradition at Cary-Grove High School.
The Rotary members felt that contributing to the project fits with the club’s overall goal of increasing the educational value of the students at Cary-Grove High School and helps to cement an existing relationship it has with the Rotary Interact Group located at the school.

The Rotary Club of Cary-Grove will be conducting a Winter Farmer's Market beginning Sunday, November 3. The event will be held in-doors at the Algonquin Township offices located at 3702 U.S. Highway 14, Crystal Lake Illinois. The market will be open between the hours of 9:00am and 12:00pm on the first and third Sundays of the month.

A hobo (wanderer) comes up to the front door of a neat looking farmhouse and raps gently on the door. When the farm owner answers, the hobo asks him, "Please, sir, could you give me something to eat? I haven't had a good meal in several days."
The owner says, "I have made a fortune in my lifetime by supplying goods for people. I've never given anything away for nothing. However, if you go around the back, you will see a gallon of paint and a clean paint brush. If you will paint my porch in the back of the house, I will give you a good meal."
So the hobo goes around back and a while later he again knocks on the door. The owner asks, "Finished already? Good. Come on in. Sit down. The cook will bring your meal right in." The hobo says, "Thank you very much, sir. But there's something that I think you should know. It's not a Porsche you got there. It's a BMW.."
