Today’s Winner - Virtual 50/50
Of the random names drawn for our Every Rotarian Every Year (EREY) 50/50 raffle, Joe Turner’s name was pulled.  Although he did win the side-bets, he did not win the "Big Pot".

Remember, that if you are a participating member and are unable to attend, you may designate someone to represent you. Members have the opportunity to change their minds regarding participation by contacting Cindy at CGRotary2020@gmal.com

Today's Guest Speaker
This morning's guest speaker was Sarah Shah, wife of Rotarian Nimeet Shah. Sarah shared with the membership a number of options on how to increase our visibility through emails, Facebook, Instagram, etc. We should be able to link our Rotary Club with our Farmers Market, Corn Sales and "Friends of Rotary" so that our message can be made available on a wide-scale basis. She also mentioned the importance of using a detailed subject line to avoid the "Spam Trap". She stressed that with our upcoming "Brew Fest", it is important to begin advertising now. We were very appreciative of her taking the time to share her knowledge with the membership.

This year's Chamber outing will be held on Friday, August 12th at Chalet Hills Golf Club. Registration is $135 per golfer with a $20 early bird discount offered to those registering before 7/1. Brew Fest 9/17/22
ALL MEMBERS:  For now, save the date. This is going to be an "All Hands On Deck" event. We're going to need help from all of our members, so if you're making travel plans for this fall, please consider keeping this date open. More to come as Chuck brings in updates. Thanks.
Rotary Club of Algonquin Fundraising Event
The Rotary Club of Algonquin will be sponsoring 'Algonquin Harvest Market' on Saturday, October 01. Local Food, fun & Crafters will be presenting a variety of handmade and homegrown goods.

The Algonquin Harvest Market is a fundraising event put together by the members of the Algonquin Rotary Club. Funds are raised though vendor booth registration, sponsorships, and sales/donations made at the Algonquin Rotary Club booth the day of the event. The proceeds from this event go towards the Algonquin Rotary Clubs projects and efforts to give back to the community and world as a whole.

Rotary Network
I've copied and pasted the verbiage from Governor Lyle's email that was sent earlier this morning. This is a great opportunity for you to get your business listed in the Rotary Business Directory. Simply click on the link below to add your establishment to the list:

"You might have heard that our District is partnering with D6450 and Rotary International on a pilot of a new opportunity for our members: The Rotary Network.

Rotary began as an opportunity for fellowship and to build business relationships that, ideally, would be advantageous to both parties.  The Rotary Network is solution for today, a way for Rotarians to help other Rotarians, and that's particularly welcome in these challenging times.  You and other Rotarians might be anxious about their business, or be looking for advice, connections, or even information about changing careers.  That's why The Rotary Network was created.  See the attached flyer and this video to learn more.

And if you're like me, retired, The Rotary Network is for you, too!  You can share your experience with other Rotarians, or provide guidance to a member that is looking for a change.  It's another way for us to be of service.

Please take a few minutes to check out therotarynetwork.org, and then list your business, add your comments, sign up as a mentor, or suggest other resources we should add.  The Rotary Network will only be as good as we together make it!"

Rotary Park Pavilion
Earlier this year, the Village of Cary announced its partnership with The Rotary Club of Cary-Grove in the development of a new park, "Cary Lake at Rotary Park". The Rotary Club is pleased to announce that it has begun soliciting donations for the construction of a picnic shelter that will be located near the main parking area of this facility. The pavilion will provide another feature to the park for the benefit of everyone that visits for many years to come. The estimated cost of this project is $70,000. The club is seeking the support of community members and local business owners in order to bring this to a quick, successful completion. Contributions are being accepted at the Club's Go Fund Me Page: http://gf.me/u/y6kq5f

Project updates will be posted to our website and FaceBook page as construction at the site progresses.

Rotary Action & Fellowship Groups
Rotarian Action Groups are autonomous groups of Rotarians, family members, program participants and alumni who are experts in a particular field, such as micro-credit or water and sanitation. More information about these groups and their purpose can be found on RI's website.

Rotary Fellowships are independent groups of Rotarians, family members, program participants and alumni who share a common passion. Being part of a fellowship is a fun way to make friends from around the world.  Again, more detailed information is available at this link to RI's website.

If you haven't all ready done so, take the time to click on the two links above and see if there may be a group that fits with your interests.  It's a great way to make new friends and to share common interests with Rotarians from around the world.
