We had our “Virtual 50/50 Raffle” to help fund our support of Rotary International’s Every Rotarian Every Year (EREY) program for 2021-22.
Of the random names drawn, Linda was our winner, but she did not pick the correct number.

Sandi is planning our Evening Social for October 21st at New China Restaurant in Fox River Grove at 6:00 PM. Sadly, they will be closing as of October 31, 2021. This may be your last chance to visit that long established restaurant. Please let Sandi know either way as to whether or not you will be in attendance.
On September 20, 2021, the Board approved the Paul Harris Club-Match Program to members in good standing of the Rotary Club of Cary-Grove:
Members who are not already a Paul Harris Fellow may make a cash donation up to $500. The club will match their contribution two-to-one up to $500* towards his/her first Paul Harris Fellow. So, if you contribute $334 the club will match $668 = $1,002.
Any member who is already a Paul Harris Fellow may make a cash donation up to $500*, and the club will match one-to-one towards his/her next Paul Harris level.
The program will run from 10/06/21 thru 12/02/21 and will be awarded at a suitable event. This allows for 2021 income tax deductions. Checks should be made payable to “The Cary-Grove Rotary Charitable Fund” and delivered to Linda Trexler. In the event of her absence, checks may be delivered to Pat Finlon.
*Paul Harris level advancements are in increments of $1,000, and there is a minimum contribution of $100 toward a club match. Please contact Linda Trexler if you are interested in taking advantage of this program or need assistance in knowing how close you are to your achieving your first, or next, Paul Harris level advancement.
The Rotary Club of Cary-Grove manned the beer wagon at Cary's "Red, White & Blues Family Fun Day”. This event was sponsored by the Cary-Grove Chamber of Commerce and was held on Saturday, October 2nd. The event represents the kick off to "National Night Out Week". Food Trucks, Live Music and Family Fun were present for those in attendance. Thanks to all who were able to volunteer for this event.
The McHenry County Coalition of Rotary Clubs held its fundraiser for the 100 Club, an organization to assist families of law enforcement and firefighters killed or seriously injured in the line of duty. The event took place this past weekend with each Club belonging to the Coalition participating at a location determined by its Rotary Club. Cary-Grove helped out at Station #1, located on Cary-Algonquin Road. Thanks to those members who were able to volunteer.
A teacher says to her High School English class, "Class, It's an interesting linguistic fact that, in English, a double negative forms a positive. In some languages though, such as Russian, a double negative is still a negative. However, there is no language in which a double positive can form a negative.
Earlier this year, the Village of Cary announced its partnership with The Rotary Club of Cary-Grove in the development of a new park, "Cary Lake at Rotary Park". The Rotary Club is pleased to announce that it has begun soliciting donations for the construction of a picnic shelter that will be located near the main parking area of this facility. The pavilion will provide another feature to the park for the benefit of everyone that visits for many years to come. The estimated cost of this project is $70,000. The club is seeking the support of community members and local business owners in order to bring this to a quick, successful completion. Contributions are being accepted at the Club's Go Fund Me Page: http://gf.me/u/y6kq5f.
