Today's side-bets winner was Joe M, but alas, he did not draw the black tee. He did, however, contribute his side-bet winnings back to the charitable fund. Thanks, Joe.
Today's program was a Classification presentation by Marisol. Born in Puerto Rico, her family relocated to Humboldt Park, Chicago when she was eight. When her children were young, she relocated to Cary and instantly fell in love with our community. She dabbled in car sales before turning her career attention to Insurance. One of the things she enjoys about her job is that no two days are the same. We are pleased to have her as a member of our organization.
A father and son are out fishing. The boy says, "Dad, how do boats float?" "I don't know," replies Dad. The boy then asks, "How do fish breathe?" "I don't know," replies Dad. A little later the boy asks, "Why is the sky blue?" "I don't know," replies Dad. Feeling somewhat nervous the boy says, "Dad, I hope you don't mind me asking you all these questions?" Of course not," replies Dad. "If you don't ask questions how will you ever learn anything?"
Today's program was presented by Jennifer Kolarczyk, Events and Marketing Manager for Home of the Sparrow. Jennifer updated the membership of some of the many programs supported by Home of the Sparrow for residents located in and around McHenry County. She also discussed a couple of fundraising events that will be taking place in the next couple of months. Their Hope Casino Night Benefit will be held on Friday, April 3rd at the Holiday Inn in Crystal Lake, and its Celebration of Women Luncheon is scheduled for Friday, May 8th at Boulder Ridge Country Club. Registration for both of these events is available on their website.
Home of the Sparrow will be holding its annual Hope Casino Night Benefit on Friday, April 3rd at the Holiday Inn in Crystal Lake. The event will be held between the hours of 6:00pm - 11:00pm. This is a fun night and would be great if we could again get a group that's interested in attending. Registration is available at https://www.hosparrow.org/hope-casino-night-benefit/.
For now "save the date". Many of us signed up this morning to volunteer for the McHenry Coalition Spaghetti Dinner on Sunday April 19th. It will be running from 1:00 to 6:00 PM. The location is yet to be determined as well as work assignments. Stay posted for updates and thank you for volunteering.
For now, save the date Tuesday, April 28, 2020 for our annual Century Reverse Raffle. Steve is confirming with The Cary Country Club and more information will be forthcoming as details are finalized.
The schedule for Greeter/Fines & Frolics is located on the left side of the bulletin under the banner "Meeting Responsibilities".
