Last week our speaker was Lon Hodge and his service dog Gander. Lon is a veteran and one of the 5.2 millions adults in the U. S. who have post-traumatic stress disorder. Gander is the service dog who saved his life. Lon is the author of "In Dogs we Trust" and is currently writing "Fetch" which will be the result of his interviews around the country with families of veterans who have committed suicide. Gander, pictured below, is the recipient of the prestigious AKC Humane Fund Award for Canine Excellence in the service dog category. Thanks to all who were able to come to the "Bye for Now" party for Danny, especially to our hostess Jing and her family. Thanks also to those who brought food for dinner and to Rich for taking photos at the party.
