Katelyn Malartsik and Sindi Smith were our speakers regarding the BGHS Comfort Closet. The closet was established in 2018 to help students with items ranging from toothpaste, deodorant, and other hygiene products. They were recipients of the Rotary grants in 2022 and 2023. Buffalo Grove High School has 29% of it's students considered low income.

 

GiveNKind event on March 21st from 5:00 to 6:30.   We will be helping sort items in the warehouse.

The Reading with Rotary event has been scheduled.  We will be reading to 100 kindergartners on Thursday, April 11 at 10:45. The location is Kilmer School at 655 Golfview Terrace. Our regular lunch meeting with take place at Continental after.  It would be great to have at least two Spanish readers. Sign Up Here!   

 

President Shawn Collins presented the Officer of the Year Award to Buffalo Grove police Investigator Crystal Dibble at a Village meeting.  The annual honor is awarded to an officer who has displayed a strong work ethic, integrity and commitment to the residents of the village.  Investigator Dibble was recognized for her work on several significant cases last year, including financial crimes and exploitation of the elderly, sexual assault investigations and commercial burglary. She also is responsible for maintaining evidence technician supplies and keeping the evidence processing area in order.  Our Rotary Club will donate $500 in Dibble’s name, with $250 going to the Rotary Foundation and the remainder to the charity of her choosing.

Officer Gabriel Augustyniak also received special commendation. He led the department in DUI arrests for the second year in a row and was among the department’s leaders in traffic law enforcement.
