Greeters Needed at O'Hare on April 9

Greeters are needed for 4 hour shifts at O'Hare Airport on Saturday April 9 to welcome incoming Rotary delegates to the Council on Legislation and direct them to Rotary-arranged bus transportation to their hotel. Please reply with your name, telephone number, and e-mail address. This is a joint responsibility of districts 6440 and 6450.

President Elect Dane Attended PETS training

Here is a message from President-Elect Dane:

I had the honor of attending the 2016-17 President Elect Training Seminar (PETS) at the Westin Itasca over the past weekend. I truly appreciate the Club’s support as I head into the presidency, and this seminar reminded me of how much we have to be thankful for and to accomplish in the coming year! I will be presenting my initial thoughts on our commitment to Rotary on Thursday evening at the Arboretum Club. More importantly, however, is the contribution I was able to make from all of you to the 2016-17 PETS Service Project. Thanks to your generous donations, I was able to deliver more than $350 in food and toiletries, as well as tons of backpacks, t-shirts and other items donated by each of you! I had so many Rotarians come up to me in amazement of the giant cart of donations – and sending their gratitude to our club for being so generous. A huge thank you goes out to each and every club member for helping out with this great cause!

Thursday, March 10 - no lunch meeting, President Elect Dane's Fireside/planning dinner and meeting - 6 pm, Arboretum Club

April 28 – May 1 – District Conference, Assembly and Youth Assembly – Lincolnshire Marriott

Wednesday, May 18 - Golf outing with Special Leisure Services Foundation starting at 11 am

Thursday, June 9 - Craft beer fundraising event at Countyline Tavern

Bill Reid Award

Past President Quintin has prepared the application to nominate an individual for the Bill Reid Community Service Award. The award is to be given to an individual whose long term community efforts have resulted in the enhancement, betterment and improved spirit of the Buffalo Grove Community. The late Bill Reid was a long time Village Trustee and a charter member of our Rotary Club.

Fran's Wish List During Her Exchange Year

Our exchange student, Fran, will be here in our community for 11 months and we asked her what she would like to do or see, because it seems that the exchange year goes very quickly. Here is what she said
