This week will be our monthly business meeting with Juliet presenting her budget for next year. There will also be a discussion of next years dues.

Last week our speaker Julie Yusim was from Hunger Resource Network, one of our grant recipients. The organization based in Northbrook raises funds then purchases chicken in bulk. They distributed on April 5th 80 tons of chicken to 70 agencies. This was their 2nd distribution of 80 tons. Resource Network maintains a waiting list of food pantries and other organizations in need of protein. Julie noted that food pantry visits are up 50% since 2020.

Nanette questioned us about Italian trivia for fun and frolics. Rotary will be in the Labor Day parade. Hetal is looking for a truck with hitch along with some kind of trailer for the parade. We will be requesting our grant recipients along with our students we sponsored to walk in the parade with us. They should wear their organizations shirts and we will provide a sash for them showing they were sponsored by Rotary. July 6th is Juliet's installation dinner at 6:00 with golfing prior.

Feed My Starving Children was held in Schaumburg with dinner afterwards. Members of Arlington Heights, River Cities and Buffalo Grove participated in this project. They packed 97 boxes, 20,952 meals which is 57 kid meals for a year at a cost of $6,076.08.

Some members also celebrated a bit of Chinese food! Also members attended the Journey's fundraiser ladies lunch.

CRD is requesting a partnership with our BG Rotary in ref: to their first annual Spring Fling Dance.

The Firefighter of the Year presentation will be at the Village Board meeting on Monday, June 16th.  Please plan on attending at 7 pm at Village Hall.
