Last Week was Jason's Fireside meeting at Lazy Dog.
Last week’s Fireside Chat reminded me why I joined this club: a room full of energy, thoughtful ideas, and people who genuinely care about one another and the work we do together.
Since not everyone was able to attend, I wanted to share the message more broadly. The attached one-pager is the same handout we discussed that evening, and it captures the main takeaway:
We are starting from a place of real strength. Members are proud of this club. Our service makes a difference. And people feel the impact of what we do.
The opportunity ahead is not about fixing something that is broken. It is about opening the door wider by inviting new members in, welcoming them well, and making sure every person who joins feels known, valued, and connected from day one.
If we do that well, everything else we care about grows with it: stronger service, deeper relationships, better engagement, and an even greater impact in our community.
We are building on something special, and the best part is that we get to do it together. I am grateful to serve alongside you and excited for what is ahead.

Juliet, Jason, Santosh and Martha would like help in planning and participating in this walk on October 24, 2026 at 10 am when Rotarians from Zones 25b & 29 will be participating in the World's Largest Polio Walk. District 6440 is encouraging us to be a part of this event with 22 other districts across 13 states and two countries to raise awareness about Polio.
Stephen and Dan are excited to announce the dates for the next Ak’ Tenamit project: The trip will be Saturday, February 20 through Tuesday, March 2, 2027.
Buffalo Grove Rotarians (and family members) will have priority until May 31, 2026. After that, space will be filled on a first-come first-served basis.
BG Rotarians making their first trip to Ak’ Tenamit are eligible for a club subsidy of up to $1500. Please contact Stephen or Dan to reserve your spot!
