At our meeting on December 11 Bo introduced Barb Swichtenberg from Ela Crafters talked about their organization. The ladies meet once a month and are always looking for more participants. They also are looking for yard and fabrics that they can use to created new knitting and quilts. We collected the fun N Frolics for a holiday donation for our waiter. Bo then introduced the ladies from the Lake County schools social workers that assisted with the food basket placements. Then Shawn announced the Bill Reid Recipient - Carolyn Lewis. Carolyn Lewis is a social worker at Aptakisic, whose kindness and guidance goes beyond the families in the school district. Carolyn Lewis is a common thread that weaves many parts of the community together like Vernon Township Mental Health Board, to BG Singers to our Rotary’s Food Box program. If asked she would say she is only doing what everyone in her field of work does, but Carolyn is exceptional because of the resources she is able to bring being involved in many facets of our community in Buffalo Grove. Carolyn and Dan Lewis have 3 kids and they are equally dedicated to the serving our community. See the photos below where the Village Board recognized Carolyn at their January 5th Board meeting.
