Last weeks meeting was our monthly business meeting. Dennis S provided his member moment since he is back for the summer from Colorado. It was also his birthday and he paid to have Jing sing Happy Birthday to him in Chinese. Save the date for June 4th fireside at Lazy Dog at 5:30 instead of our lunch that day. June 4th will also be a benefit day for the Rotary Club of Buffalo Grove. Lazy Dog will donate 15% to the foundation of all sales when told of the flyer. Golf committee says they are looking for 136 golfers this year. Denny D. said looking for 100% participation with the golf outing. Please provide either golfers, sponsorships, gifts for auction, or Denny can purchase gift item for you. The Ducks soft launch will be June 4th. Looking for additional volunteers for bingo committee.
Juliet, Jason, Santosh and Martha would like help in planning and participating in this walk on October 24, 2026 at 10 am when Rotarians from Zones 25b & 29 will be participating in the World's Largest Polio Walk. District 6440 is encouraging us to be a part of this event with 22 other districts across 13 states and two countries to raise awareness about Polio.
Stephen and Dan are excited to announce the dates for the next Ak’ Tenamit project: The trip will be Saturday, February 20 through Tuesday, March 2, 2027.
Buffalo Grove Rotarians (and family members) will have priority until May 31, 2026. After that, space will be filled on a first-come first-served basis.
BG Rotarians making their first trip to Ak’ Tenamit are eligible for a club subsidy of up to $1500. Please contact Stephen or Dan to reserve your spot!
The Rotary Club of Northbrook and Glenview clubs are hosting an event on Thursday May 28th (6:30 to 7:45pm) at the Glenview Public Library. Cook County Commissioner Scott Britton will be presenting State of Cook County. Contact Juliet for reservations and more information.
