Last week we met at the Village's Public Works building and member Mike Skibbe, Deputy Village Manager/Director of Public Works, and Jim Warnstedt, Deputy Public Works Director, gave us a history and a tour of the facility. In 2022, the Village purchased a building at 1650 Leider Lane, which had served as warehouse space and was vacant for over two years. The facility underwent an adaptive reuse, which provided the Village with significant cost savings compared to a newly constructed building. Public Works began operating out of this new facility in September, 2024.  Thank you for hosting us!

    

  

 

At a recent Village Board meeting, Officer Timothy Kroski received the Police Department's highest honor as Rotary's Officer of the Year for 2024, presented by Past President Shawn. Officer Kroski was nominated by his peers for his excellent performance in various roles with the department over the course of the past year, including serving as a field training officer, a member of the midnight shift and a School Resource Officer for Buffalo Grove High School.   Pictured below are Police Chief Brian Budds, Officer Timothy Kroski, our past president Shawn Collins and Deputy Police Chief Michael Rodriguez.

Cass encouraged our members to attend District 21's Board Meeting on 3/20 to celebrate our Literacy Nights sponsored by us and Indian Trails Library.

 

We will be helping with the Indian Trails Library and Dist 21 (2 to 4 volunteers per night)

The Literacy Nights will be held at the Indian Trails Library. We will be providing books for all the participants. Volunteers will be working the book table.
