Community Grant Applications Are Being Sought
Community Grant Committee Chair Deenie has announced that the 2021 Community Grant Application is up and running on the Rotary Website.  She will be contacting the previous winners, but if you know of a local organizations operating as charitable, faith-based or not-for-profit agencies with a 501(c)3 designation, please contact them to tell them they are eligible to apply for one-time grants of up to $2,500.  Projects must be initiated by the applying non-profit organization and contribute to Rotary's focus on community service, which includes projects and activities taken to improve life in the Buffalo Grove area.  Applications are due by May 30, 2021.  For more information, please contact Grants Committee Chair Deenie Pomilia at (847) 533-6605 or grants@bgrotary.org.
Our Club's Trivia Team Had Fun at the Wheaton Club's Trivia Night February 27
Our club's trivia team - Jing and John O'Brien, Shawn, Lisa, Shannon, Stephen, Denny Snyder, Joan, Deenie and Martha had a fun time during the Rotary Club of Wheaton's fundraiser trivia night on Saturday.  We may not have won, but we had fun being in our own chat room to talk about the questions.  This club has great camaraderie!  Thanks for being our captain Jing!
 
District 6440 is Offering Vocational Scholarships

District 6440 is offering 10 vocational scholarships in the amount of $1,500 each and our club can sponsor two applicants for consideration.  Click here to see the media coverage of this opportunity.   Applications must be sent to the Rotary Club of Buffalo Grove by March 22, 2021.  We have the information and the fillable application on our website and use this link  bgrotary.org/v-scholarship to go directly to the information.
Guatemala March 2021 Service Trip Postponed

Regretfully, circumstances require that we cancel our March 2021 trips to Ak’ Tenamit scheduled for March 5-14 and March 19-28.
 
Given the hopeful news about vaccines, we are targeting October 2021 for a possible reboot.  Details will follow as we learn more.
