Last week our new Assistant Governor, Dee Santucci from the Glenview Sunrise Club, attended our meeting and introduced herself. Stephen did Fun'NFrolics that contained facts about Ak'Tenamit as a prelude to his and Dan's presentation on our service in Guatemala. They described this year's construction project, building a much needed new residence hall for the teaching staff. They also asked a few of the past volunteers to talk about their experiences. An amazing history of projects that Dan and Stephen have spearheaded over 17 years of service. There are currently more than 1,000 students at the school and because of the great work of the Board, founder Steve Dudenhoefer, and our Rotary club opportunities continue to expand for indigenous Guatemalans. |
