Please see President Melanie's email yesterday regarding our meeting on Thursday that is both in person at Pete's and a zoom meeting. If you are attending in person, please get your lunch order in by tomorrow (Wednesday) noon. We are going to have at least six guests (five in person and one on Zoom) from different clubs (Wheeling and Batavia) who are interested in seeing how we run our hybrid meetings. Our speaker is Sean Nelson, who will give us an update on RYLA.
Our Club is executing our 2nd Mobile Food Pantry Event on Saturday, June 5th. A very generous local BG resident is sponsoring the financial investment for the food. Our club is providing the MANPOWER!
We will be handing out boxes of food to up to 150 families.

Our club is taking applications for individuals for the Bill Reid Community Service Award. The award is to be given to an individual whose long term community efforts have resulted in the enhancement, betterment and improved spirit of the Buffalo Grove Community. Please see our website page for details and the application that is due June 1, 2021.
Our club is offering academic and public safety scholarship grants to support educational programs preparing students for careers with a four-year undergraduate degree and careers in public safety fields. One-time grants in the amount of up to $2,000 each will be awarded in both categories. Please see our website for details and the link to the applications that are due June 1, 2021.
Community Grant Committee Chair Deenie has announced that the 2021 Community Grant Application is up and running on the Rotary Website. She will be contacting the previous winners, but if you know of a local organizations operating as charitable, faith-based or not-for-profit agencies with a 501(c)3 designation, please contact them to tell them they are eligible to apply for one-time grants of up to $2,500. Projects must be initiated by the applying non-profit organization and contribute to Rotary's focus on community service, which includes projects and activities taken to improve life in the Buffalo Grove area.
