Weekly Bulletin of the Buffalo Grove Rotary Club June 4, 2015 (Jun 02, 2015)

Last Week's Meeting

Last week one of our newer members, Joshua Brand, gave his classification speech. Josh grew up in Florida, graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in 2003 and received his Masters in Public Administration from University of Colorado at Denver in 2010. He is currently a lead management analyst for the U.S. Office of Personnel Management and has a strong commitment to charitable causes. We are very fortunate to have Josh as a member of our club.

Danny Graduated from BG High School

Danny, our exchange student from Ecuador, graduated this Sunday from Buffalo Grove High School where he was a very successful and engaged student this past year. Here is he during the graduation party that his host mother gave him. His two host families, the Pecoraro and Buchholz families, are pictured, as well as his two youth exchange officers, Martha Weiss from our club and Nancy Keppel from the Wheeling Rotary Club. Denny Snyder, his youth exchange counselor, also attended but left before we thought to take photos. (Sorry Denny.)

Interact Clubs' Relay for Life June 12 BG High

Just a reminder about the annual Relay for Life that the two Interact Clubs of Stevenson and Buffalo Grove High Schools sponsor. This year it will be held at BG High on Friday, June 12 starting at 7 pm. The students have the option of staying overnight, but most adults leave after the moving luminaria ceremony at 10 pm.

If you are interested in attending, or to make a donation or purchase a luminaria to honor a loved one, Martha Weiss has a team and she is inviting club members to join her. Please see: http://main.acsevents.org/goto/tenforten
