The theme of this year's district conference on May 13 was "Empowering Women and Girls" and there were very impactful speakers, including women youth leaders from Rotaract, Interact, and a Rotary scholarship recipient who all spoke about how Rotary has greatly influenced their lives.  Ramesh Ferris, a Canadian Rotarian and polio survivor was a powerful and moving speaker who told his life story and how he has single handedly raised money for Polio Plus.  It was an excellent conference.  During the entertainment after dinner, Nanette was a helpful magician's assistant.  By: Martha Weiss
