From Denny Snyder:
For the past 30 years, our club along with the Wheeling club has been involved with getting food (and sometimes clothing, and games) to some of the neediest families in the BG and Wheeling area. For the past month we have been collecting food. We will also be purchasing food thru budgeted monies from each club and a matching grant from our district. Each family will also get a food gift card and a game.
Now we need some man/woman power. The following will be taking place at the Buffalo Grove Park District Community Arts Center,225 McHenry Road, BG
Tuesday November 8 from 4pm-8pm - sorting the food
Wednesday November 9 from 4pm-8pm - boxing the food
Saturday, November 12 from 8am-noon - distributing the food.
Please help. See Denny to volunteer. On Saturday high school students from BG HS and Stevenson HS will help with the delivery. These students will be accompanied by 2 adults in each car. Last year we were short on adults. Of course you can bring your kids/grandkids. It's a very good charity learning experience.
Additionally if you would like to donate food you can bring it to any Rotary lunch or drop off at Denny Snyder's office at 791 S. Buffalo Grove Road, BG
Cash is also welcome. If you prefer cash make a check payable to the Buffalo Grove Rotary Foundation and give the check to Snyder. This way you can take a tax deduction and we can purchase food with no sales tax.
