Thanks to our members who supported the Earth Day documentary viewing of the Story of Plastic Friday. Our club co-sponsored it with the Buffalo Grove Evironmental Action Team and we had panelists from the Sierra Club, the League of Women Voters, the McHenry Environmental Defenders, the Rotary District 6440's Environmental Committee and our member State Senator Adriane Johnson. The approximately 40 attendees were very engaged about the topic and were complimentary about the program. An additional date from the Environmental Commitee: Brett will be sending out a survey to see who can attend this event: Friends and family members are invited: May 21 - 9 am to noon - Willow Stream Park at the nature playground near the outdoor pool off of Farrington Drive. We will be planting native plants at an overgrown bed and on a berm (unoficially Ryan's Hill) nearby. This is a project that we hope to get many club members out to help. Thanks! |
