Last week Tom awarded two of our members, Joan and Larry, as Paul Harris Fellows.  A Paul Harris Fellow is a recognition given by Rotary International to individuals who have made a substation contribution to the Rotary Foundation. This recognition acknowledges their support for the Foundation's humanitarian and educational programs, which aim to improve lives around the world.

We celebrated Sita's birthday with a group sing, and Denny wanted the moms in the club to sing to him in honor of upcoming Mother's Day.

 

The business meeting was held and Jason described changes in membership options and the impact on the budget. They decided to formalize the non-eater option and rename it to 'Essentials'. The standard membership with lunch will increase by $10, and the essentials plan will also increase by $10. A vote was taken to support this change and it passed.  Juliet discussed her budget for the next Rotary year, which includes an increase in the Rotary International and District dues. The budget also includes an increase in the number of students we plan to sponsor for RYLA. Shannon discussed the 'Every Rotarian Every Year' campaign, where each member is encouraged to consider donating $100 to Rotary International.  There were a couple of minor changes to the budget discussed, and those changes will be made and it will be presented to the club at the next business meeting for appproval.

BG Rotary 2025 Guatemala Service Trip - Day 3. What a day! We made lots of progress on building wall panels and started putting up exterior walls, room dividers and door openings. Another scorcher in the sun, but we were blessed with some breezes off the river in the afternoon. We had a team painting doors to go in the new building and new covered clotheslines were built for the boys’ campus. We’re cranking it out! Asociacion Aktenamit

The Firefighter of the Year presentation will be at the Village Board meeting on Monday, June 16th.  Please plan on attending at 7 pm at Village Hall.
