Participate in Our World Polio Day Event This Saturday! Our Club and the Environmental Committee are collecting seeds from native plants to honor World Polio Day at Willow Stream Park this Saturday, October 24th and there are two time slots to choose from - 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Collected seeds will be planted at Buffalo Grove Park District parks this winter. Club members/volunteers will meet at the Willow Stream Park swimming pool parking lot at 600 Farrington Drive in Buffalo Grove . Please dress for the weather and bring work gloves if you have them. Our club was well represented at Monday's Village Board meeting.  Past President Shawn Collins presented our 2019 Firefighter of the Year Award to Firefighter/Paramedic Gary Steadman. Past President Bill Donahue presented our 2019 Police Officer of the Year Award to Sergeant Tony Montiel as well as the Special Commendation Award to Investigator Brian Hansen. Following those awards, President Melanie Santostefano read the Village's proclamation of World Polio Day on October 24th encouraging citizens to join Rotary International in the fight for a polio-free world.

Larry Kanar (our past Assistant Governor and friend of our club) is seeking volunteers for his club's blood drive on October 31.  Please consider donating.

Stephen and Dan W. are excited to announce the dates for 2021 for the Ak' Tenamit service trips - March 5-14 and March 19-28.  Arrangements can be made for those wishing to stay the entire time period. It is a wonderful opportunity for service - think about attending!
