Saturday, May 8th - Environmental project - Plant Green Lake Park! 

Meet at noon at the parking lot for Green Lake Park, 1101 Green Knolls Dr. and bring work gloves if you have them, insect repellent and sunscreen if necessary.  The project will be approximately 2-3 hours and please bring family members!  We will be planting native pollinator plants in the cottonwood grove, swale and at the pond shorelines.  This park has been recently renovated and is really a jewel in our community.  Please contact Lisa at ldsiwek@comcast.net if you are willing to help out with this project.  This is a cooperative project sponsored by us, the Buffalo Grove Environmental Action Team, the Buffalo Grove Garden Club and Lake County Stormwater Management Commission and we would like to see as many volunteers as possible.  Will be fun and butterfly friendly!  -Martha and Jeff Weiss

Our club is taking applications for individuals for the Bill Reid Community Service Award.  The award is to be given to an individual whose long term community efforts have resulted in the enhancement, betterment and improved spirit of the Buffalo Grove Community.  Please see our website page for details and the application that is due June 1, 2021.

Our club is offering academic and public safety scholarship grants to support educational programs preparing students for careers with a four-year undergraduate degree and careers in public safety fields.  One-time grants in the amount of up to $2,000 each will be awarded in both categories.  Please see our website for details and the link to the applications that are due June 1, 2021.
