Last week Suzanne Wexler, a Buffalo Grove resident, shared information about Journeys|The Road Home and the PADS program, both here in Buffalo Grove and the greater NW Cook County Suburbs. She is involved with the PADS program held at Kingswood Methodist Church on Dundee Road in Buffalo Grove. Martha has sent a separate email to club members to learn more about the program and how they can be a volunteer. The PADS shelter is open every Tuesday night throughout the year. They house anywhere from 20-40 homeless men, women and children from 7pm until 7am, providing dinner, warm smiles and conversation, showers, a comfortable place to sleep, breakfast and a sack lunch. Typically people volunteer once or twice a month (some a little more; some a little less). Thanks to Suzanne for all of her energy and dedication to this program!
