Our Club Members Going to Guatemala
Our Guatemala Ak' Tenamit project continues with our club members, and some of their families, going on the service trip from February 13-21.  Going this year are:  Stephen Legge and his wife Jeannette, Dan Wolf and his daughter Zoe, Jing O'Brien and her daughter Michelle, Bill Balling, Steve Koebernick, Rob Seitz and our Assistant Governor Lyle Staab.  Former member Mike LeTourneau and his son are also going.  Other Rotarians fill out the group to 22.

There are considerable weight restrictions, but the group would welcome gently used summer clothing and office supplies (not paper though).  Deflated soccer balls are also welcome.

We look forward to a presentation of their accomplishments and experiences at a future meeting.  Safe travels!
Last Week's Meeting
Last week, one of our newer members, Melanie Santostefano, gave her classification speech.  She described how her family background and job experiences influenced her decision to found a marketing/public relations company.  In an article announcing that her firm had been chosen as the Business of the Year by the Palatine Area Chamber of Commerce, Melanie, the company co-founder and president, explained that  "The mission of Vicarious Productions has always been  to nurture and grow small businesses; this desire comes from my deep entrepreneurial spirit-an outgrowth of watching my parents, aunts and uncles, all of whom immigrated from western Europe, grow businesses of their own. . .The American Dream is still alive and burning bright-we see it daily through our company and through our clients.”  Welcome to our club, Melanie.
Golf Committee Meeting on Jan. 21st at 1:30
