Last week Juliet provided Fun N Frolics - Non Political Presidential questions!! Cass was our speaker and provided us with her Classification Talk. Cass spoke about her Greek background. She talked about working for United Airlines, working in the movie business where she met her husband. She currently works for School Dist. 21. We are very happy to have her in our club!

We were very busy with Dist 21 this past week. We had our final literacy Night with Hawthorne on Thursday night. Some attended the Dist 21 board meeting Celebrate Literacy Nights! A couple of us also attended Longfellow school to watch some of the 1st graders Day of Service which our Rotary provided funding.

 

Steven gave us an update on the extensive building project to take place in Guatemala.

 

 

 

CRD is requesting a partnership with our BG Rotary in ref: to their first annual Spring Fling Dance.

Martha proposed that our club join with the Arlington Heights Club and the North Chicago Club to apply for a District 6440 Collaborative Grant for greenhouse and landscape redevelopment of a middle school in the underserved community of North Chicago.  The deadline for the grant application is March 17 and the clubs will be notified whether they were successful or not by March 20th.  A vote was taken, and the club authorized the sum of $1,200 to contribute to this project.
