Steve Balinski will be introducing Joanna Prisiajniouk, a Rotarian from the Rotary Club of River Cities, who will update us on her efforts to provide humanitarian relief to the people of Ukraine before we have our business meeting.

Members of our club recently attended an event at one of our loyal sponsors, CDE Collision, for a program they are involved with called Recycled Rides.  Members of the National Auto Body Council NABC team up with collision industry colleagues to refurbish and donate vehicles to individuals and service organizations in need. This collaboration of businesses represents all facets of the collision industry – insurers, collision repairers, paint suppliers, parts vendors and others and has resulted in more than 2,750 vehicles valued at $38 million donated in local communities across the country. Average value of gifted vehicles is $15,000.  During the event, an individual received a car donated by Hertz Rent-a-Car and refurbished by CDE employees and volunteers.

 

Alan Steiner, a talented double bassist, was our speaker and performed for us.  Alan enjoys presenting the world of music with his bass to young students, high-schoolers, and seniors with his own outreach program, Touch Bass with Alan.  He is also a piano tuner and technician who serves most of Chicago’s North Side and the Northwest Suburbs.  He asked Shawn and Lisa to follow his instructions about clapping in time with an appropriate rest and they both had difficulty.
