Past Presidents Brian and Shawn officially announced Buffalo Grove High School Social Worker Lily Justiniano as the recipient of the 2025 Bill Reid Community Service Award. She was chosen for her extensive community volunteer work, particularly with the Holiday Food Box program. She has been integral in helping our Club identify families in need to receive food, and has provided translation services in helping us reach Spanish-speaking members of our community. She will soon be entering retirement, so we are incredibly grateful for all of her support over the years. We will publicly announce her as the recipient at an upcoming Village of Buffalo Grove Board meeting -- stay tuned for an official announcement date. Congratulations Lily, thank you for all you do!
Jason recognized Club Member Mike Rylko with a Paul Harris +8 honor for his generous ongoing support of the Rotary Foundation, while Dan Wolf Presented a "Rotary Price is Right" edition of Fun and Frolics. Thank you to those club members who continue to contribute to the Buffalo Grove High School Comfort Closet. This is a discreet service at the high school to assist those students who do not experience the privilege of all they need for personal hygiene and care at home due to circumstances. Please keep us in mind for your donations of these new, unused items you may have at home. Such items are: toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, lotion, feminine products, deodorant, etc. Also, your cash donations to Deenie on their behalf are so appreciated and make a difference in their life. Items are purchased at GiveNKind for pennies on the dollar. Please bring donations to our Rotary meetings and Deenie will collect them.
