Our exchange student, Fran, will be here in our community for 11 months and we asked her what she would like to do or see, because it seems that the exchange year goes very quickly. Here is what she said
"Thank you for asking me about it, I know that maybe I won't do all of those things, but if I can do some them would be amazing"
David Bard from KSM Promotions attended our meeting on October 29 with samples of items that he has previously sold to us with our logo on it, such as polo shirts, denim shirts, fleeces, etc. Please click here (click the words in red "click here") to see what he is offering and also see the new item he has added: Men's Microfleece Jacket

For the past 25+ years, our club along with the Wheeling club has been involved with getting food (and sometimes clothing, and games) to some of the neediest families in the BG and Wheeling area.
For the Past month we have been collecting food. We will also be purchasing food thru budgeted monies from each club and a matching grant from our district. Each family will also get a Food gift card and a game.
Now we need some man/woman power. The following will be taking place at the BG arts center on Monday Nov 9 from 4pm-8pm, on Tuesday Nov 10 from 4pm-8pm, and on Nov 14 from 8am-noon. On Monday we will be sorting the food, on Tuesday we'll be boxing the food, on Saturday we'll be distributing the food.
Please help. On Saturday high school students from BG HS and Stevenson HS will help with the delivery. These students will be accompanied by 2 adults in each car. Last year we were short on adults. Of course you can bring your kids/grandkids. It's a very good charity learning experience.
Additionally if you would like to donate food you can bring it to any Rotary lunch or drop off at Denny Snyder's office.
Cash is also welcome. If you prefer cash make a check payable to the Buffalo Grove Rotary Foundation and give the check to Snyder. This way you can take a tax deduction and we can purchase food with no sales tax.
NEW:
Chief Balinski needs help moving food from Garden Fresh Market on Monday at 3:30pm. We'll be loading a truck at the food store and taking that food to the BG Arts center, so it can be sorted. If you volunteered for Monday and can make it at 3:30 we could use your help.
We still need volunteers for Saturday (9/14) to help with distribution. We are short on Rotarians.
