Last week State Senator Julie Morrison, a Deerfield Rotarian, was our speaker to talk about the state's state of affairs.  She also was promoting her club's fund raiser for Mitchell, the dog who visited our club with his handlers from the Lake County Children's Advocacy Center.  It is a 2-mile dog walk starting at Jaycee Memorial Park in Deerfield on Saturday, April 30, at 10 am.

 

 

 

 

 

Just a quick reminder that there is less than 2 weeks to get your applications in for District Vocational Scholarships!!!  If you know of a candidate who will be or is attending a two year academic program, please encourage them to apply.   Blank applications are located on the Vocational Service page on the District website (rotary6440.org) on the left hand side.  All Clubs in the District can submit up to 2 applications.  Please make sure all applications are complete with all required forms.

Our exchange student, Fran, will be here in our community for 11 months and we asked her what she would like to do or see, because it seems that the exchange year goes very quickly.  Here is what she said
