Last Weeks Meeting

Jerry talked about still needing a couple of volunteers for Duck Road Show. Jason stated we have a $600.00 limit on Bingo gift cards remaining.

Last Week our speaker was Dev Dhooper a senior at Palatine High School, The Myopic Project. He has worked at Kapoor Eyecare for 3 years. He talked about the different eye diseases Myopia Macular Degeneration, Retial Detachment, and Glaucoma. He promotes education about eye care.

National Night Out August 5th

For those club members who are volunteering at National Night Out on Tuesday, August 5, please plan on arriving at Mike Rylko Community Park, located at 951 McHenry Road in Buffalo Grove (a new event location) at 5 pm. The Business Expo takes place in the grass in the middle of the park. Enter the park on McHenry Road at the Fitness Center sign. Pull up along the path to unload your car. Once unloaded, you will be directed to the green parking lot to park your car. After unloading and moving your car, come see Martha who will direct you to our booth. Jing will be bringing the pop up tent and signage for selling duck tickets. We can discuss what games and prizes we should have at our meetings.

There will be a wide variety of food trucks at the event this year with food for sale, and we are encouraged to bring water and snacks since it has been hot the last few years. The expo lasts until 7:30, but the band plays until 8:30.

Please bring a non-perishable food item to be distributed to local food pantries by the Northwest Suburban Interfaith Council. Contact Martha at weiss.martha@gmail.com if you have questions.

There will be a naming ceremony at 5:00 for the amphitheater after Senator Johnson.
