Last week Kevin Wojnicki, a licensed personal banker at First American Bank in BG, became a member of our club.  Congratulations and welcome Kevin!     Also, we heard a great classification speech from our former newest member, Rod Stackhouse.  He and his wife train service dogs and he brought his current trainee.  Rod and his family are very active in the community and we are thankful to have Rod in our club!

Last week we celebrated Alex's birthday - he was 17 on the 17th!  Alex is leaving us on the 20th, and will be in Florida for four months as he does rehab after surgery.  His mom and grandfather will meet him in New York City, and together they will drive to Florida where his mom will be with him for the four month.  All the best to you Alex, and thank you for being such a great exchange student!

President Dane and President Elect Ryan attended a meeting of the Schaumburg-Hoffman Estate Rotary Club on Friday where the President of Rotary International, John Germ, was the speaker.  Here are Dane and Ryan with our District Governor, Rick Rivkin, and RI President Germ.

Please see the homepage of our website for information about the community grants that our club is offering.  There is a link to the application in the story.  Also, the Community Grants Chair, Deenie, will be sending out an individual email to each member with the application attached.  This is a great opportunity for us to support our local agencies that do so much for our community.

Scholarship grants in the one-time amount of $1,000 each will be awarded to support educational programs preparing students for careers with a four-year degree. Grants require acceptance into a Bachelor Degree college program.

APPLICANTS MUST BE A CURRENT STUDENT OR PRIOR GRADUATE AT EITHER BUFFALO GROVE HIGH SCHOOL OR ADLAI E. STEVENSON HIGH SCHOOL.

The information is also on the home page of our website, along with a link to the application.
