Last weeks meeting was a GREAT Success! We had a full room "at capacity" with 20 grant recipients, 28 members, and 30 prospective new members. We had inspirational talks by Agnieska of TOTS and Emily from GiveNkind. Both messages were dramatically different but shows how Rotary has made a difference with other local organizations. Shawn told the group about our Fall food baskets, and Dan discussed our history of working in Guatemala. Dennis & Captain Quack provided information on how we raise funds to provide the grants. District Gov. Richard Reigner gave a little of his history with Rotary, while President Juliet and President-Elect Jason commented on how they became addicted to Rotary.
Juliet, Jason, Santosh and Martha would like help in planning and participating in this walk on October 24, 2026 at 10 am when Rotarians from Zones 25b & 29 will be participating in the World's Largest Polio Walk. District 6440 is encouraging us to be a part of this event with 22 other districts across 13 states and two countries to raise awareness about Polio.

On Saturday, we participated in an environmental project at the Buffalo Grove Prairie by sowing native seeds and removing litter along the fence line west of the prairie.
By establishing a cover crop, we will protect the soil from erosion and invasive species, and prepare it for over-seeding in the fall. Thanks so much to those members who participated.
