Thanks to all who are able to join the club via Zoom - here is last week's participation. This week is the business meeting, so hope to see even more club members!
From Bill: I think it's important to give the members a formal status report on the club and hear from the board members and committee heads so this week's virtual meeting (May 7) will be a business meeting - Thursday at 12:15 PM.
We invite everyone to join!
As a result of the concerns about strangers joining in to Zoom meetings (aka "zoombombing") we are adding 2 security features to our meeting:
1) A Password will be added to the invitation. Once you click the Zoom link, you will be asked to enter a 6 digit password. You will find that password in the email I send this Thursday morning.
2) Once you enter the meeting, you will go directly into a "Waiting Room". I will get an alert that you are there and I will then click a button to join you into the meeting.
Please make sure to type your NAME in when you join to identify yourself.
I will send out the Zoom link and Password on Thursday morning
If anyone is new to Zoom and would like to do a quick training with me, please call Shannon at 630-220-6106 or respond to this email.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to get training - it will only take a few minutes and you will be set to go to Zoom with us!
Just to remind you, our club is going forward with community grants and scholarships - see our website for details. From Deenie:
The Community Grant Application is up and running on the Rotary Website!
For your convenience I have attached it here as a pdf that may be printed and completed, a fillable pdf document, and the direct link to the page of our website with the link to the online application below:
Due to the extended Stay-at-Home order, SLSF and The Rotary Club of Buffalo Grove have made the difficult decision to reschedule the 2020 Buffalo Grove Golf Classic from May 20, 2020 to Wednesday, September 30, 2020.
Melanie has created a Facebook page so we can stay connected that way if you choose to. Go to BG Rotary COVID-19 Touch Base FB Group! and join us. As Melanie said:
Feel free to utilize this page if you'd like to check in and let us know how you are faring through this unprecedented time! Let us know what you're doing to stay busy (and sane), and if there is anything you believe we could all benefit from.
Our treasurer, Brian, went through the process of setting up Amazon Smile for the Rotary Foundation. Here is the link if you want to check it out: https://smile.amazon.com/ch/36-3653525
It's a great way to support our Foundation any time you are ordering from Amazon!
