This Week's Meeting
This week Jesse Rojo will present information about NAMI, National Alliance on Mental Illiness.

Last Weeks Meeting
Last week our speaker was Ross Spencer of Shelter Box. He brought in the new version of "shelter box", a smaller version. Shelter box provides a temporary shelter to people after a disaster. Approximately 8 years ago Shelter Box got involved with conflicts. They are now the biggest problem in the world. Only responded to 2 natural disasters this year. They customize their support depending on the situation. They provide Solar lights, blankets, clean water filters, nets, tarps, cooking gear, and tents as needed.

Meet:  September 28, 9:00 am
Location:  Park on Mill Creek Drive, east of Arlington Heights Road
Bring:  Work gloves if you have them, dress for weather
 
We will be:
  • spreading seeds of native plants
  • planting native shrubs
  • collecting seeds
  • picking up litter along the edge of the prairie
All equipment and materials will be provided.
 
At 11:30, we have a reservation for lunch at the Continental Restaurant, 788 S Buffalo Grove Rd, Buffalo Grove, IL 60089.  This is a good chance for fellowship between our two clubs!
